She works as the Employer Relations Assistant, and establishes new connections and opportunities between the university and employers, while also strengthening ties with existing partners. Her responsibilities include the compilation and establishment of internship programs, managing job postings on the university's online job board, and becoming familiar with various companies, their structure, and their business needs.

Nellie Murphy, Social Media and Marketing Assistant

Nellie is a freshman studying Philosophy and Theology. She was born in Chicago where she was raised on the Southside of the city, along with her younger brother. After attending Mother McAuley, the largest all-girls Catholic high school in the nation, she chose to continue her formation as a student-athlete, friend, and Catholic at Ave Maria.

Nellie serves as the Social Media and Marketing Assistant, and is responsible for designing and overseeing much of the creative content that comes out of the Office. In her words, "Working in Career Services has helped me learn more about the hiring process and what the future after Ave holds. Even though much of what I do is post on social media and design flyers and bulletins for events, researching the topics of these events is significant and has helped me learn more than I could have on my own. I am only a freshman but working in Career Services has opened my eyes to all the opportunities and resources our university provides."

She is currently a member of the AMU Women's Tennis Team, and the secretary of the Adventure Club.

Maeve Alflen, Communications Assistant

Maeve Alflen is a Northern Michigan girl who now finds herself in the sunny state of Florida. As the Career Services Communications Assistant, she is in charge of coordinating and executing all major outreach campaigns from the Office, as well as for managing the topics and contributors of blogs, spotlights, and profiles. She is currently developing an alumni spotlight series, which will connect past graduates with current and future students.

As a junior biology major at Ave Maria University, Maeve considers herself blessed by the numerous opportunities she has received at Ave Maria University, noting especially her participation in directed research with her professors, and traveling to Rome for the recent canonization of Mother Teresa. She's a fan of all things health and nutrition, and in her spare time can be found socializing at the pool or indulging in the BBC series, Sherlock.
