Meet the Staff

Zach Crockett, Director of Career Services

Whether exploring the differences between majors, leading a workshop on resume development, or coaching students through interview, Zach Crockett takes a special interest in the lives and futures of AMU students. As the Director of Career Services, he has overseen a significant increase in positive career outcome rates through simplifying the complicated process of career preparation and offering detailed, individualized coaching.

Zach also attended Ave Maria University, having graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Politics and Literature. While a student he took an active involvement in Student Government, the Filii in Filio Household, the Students for Life Club, the AMU Magazine, and the Student Ambassador Program. In his senior year, Zach began working for the Naples-based Foundation for Government Accountability as an intern, and after graduation was promoted to Operations Coordinator. There he coordinated several projects, including legislative outreach in several states, donor relations and fundraising campaigns, and the research and editing of articles.

Zach is originally from the suburbs outside Chicago, Illinois. He lives in Ave Maria with his wife Vivian.

Maeve Alflen, Communications Assistant

Maeve is a senior studying Biology with an emphasis on Medicine and Marine Biology. Born and raised in Northern Michigan, she loves with all that the tropics have to offer and can often be found soaking up some sunshine at the pool. 

She works as the Employer Relations Assistant, focusing on building connections with employers as well as strengthening existing relationships with companies who have previously worked with Ave Maria. Her responsibilities include the research and establishment of internship programs and career opportunities, managing the university's job board on Handshake, and speaking with employers to determine how Ave Maria canhelp meet their unique needs. 

Maeve plans to become a dermatologist PA after graduation, with the hopes of also traveling the world and visiting all 7 continents before her 30th birthday.
